A New Page
One small step in my writing journey (and a giant leap towards literary domination)
Well… Here We Are
If you had told me six months ago that I would be doing this, I would have cackled. Everyone knows at some point, any author ready to put their art on display has got to have a newsletter. But see, here’s where it gets tricky. The whole point of a newsletter lies in the first four letters, NEWS. I had none, zip, diddly squat. Then there was this other thing of trying a different kind of media. I like weaving stories, building up worlds and then watching the plot unfold to rip it apart. Reporting news? Not so much. Being the effective overthinker I am, I had come up with a million reasons why this would be a total bust. But in the face of the great unknown, all you need is…
A Little Push
Technically, mine came in two forms. A little nudge and one great big shove. Like I said before, I knew the point of newsletter. But I didn’t see the need for one till a lovely reader on Wattpad asked if I had a mail or social media they could follow. And it had me thinking. I had options, none of them that were made for what they had in mind. Wattpad was a great start for sharing my works, but I was moving on to the wonderful world of traditional publishing so I wasn’t on there much. And I was rather tired of using my books as an alternative of leaving a message since my message board didn’t have that same reach. My Twitter page was made mostly to build community with other writers, especially those familiar with the joys of trying to get your foot in the door of publishing (Spoiler alert: it gets jammed, like a lot). Instagram…well, it’s a work in progress. Yet, I didn’t have a space that could keep me connected to all you fantastic readers I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years.
Then came the great shove in March (the juicy details will be in next post so stay tuned). And all my million whys to stay off the newsletter got thrown out by one valid point.
Why not?
So, without further ado, I present,
The Inner Ara
Welcome aboard, guys. There are so many things that go on behind the curtains when I start a new book or before my eventual book deal. Magical, miserable and marvellous things. And you just got front row seats. Now it’s new territory for me but I’m excited to begin.
Housekeeping
If you’re here from Wattpad, you’d probably be familiar with my… posting habits. Architecture turned out be a very demanding ‘plan B’, who knew? Since this is a good ol’ newsletter, I will be working with two updates in a month. and like the working (schooling) class girlie I am, the updates on Fridays. While, this will be the site for any official announcement on all things writing and publishing, with a few perks. I’m thinking,
Bonus scenes that didn’t make the cut
One-shots of your favourite characters and what they get up to beyond the main story.
My personal artwork
Character sheets and interviews
World building facts and glossaries
You feeling the magic already? Cause I sure am.
For now, I’m signing off with a little reminder that this is, first and foremost, a community. I would absolutely love to hear from you guys, whether they are suggestions or just nice conversations about your thoughts on any of my works or this Substack.
If you’ve come this far, I once again welcome you to the chaos. Now, lets have a blast, shall we?

Congratulations on your journey so far.. Cheers to having a blast together 🥂
I'm excitedddd. ✨🤭
